I Saw the Devil (2010)
"Remember, your nightmare's only getting worse."
I Saw the Devil is not your typical revenge story. Kim Soo-hyeon's wife gets murdered by a serial killer, and Kim Soo-hyeon goes after the killer, Kyung-chul. Kim manages to find and beat the living crap out of Kyung many times to the point of death. But he doesn't kill him, yet. He just toys with him because he wants Kyung to the feel the same pain that he felt when he found out that his wife was murdered by a psychopath. Kim plays god with Kyung's fate and it's a high octane thrill ride till the very end. Kyung-chul is played by Choi Min-Sik and the only time I've seen him act was in Oldboy. What a great actor. I've seen him play both the protagonist and the antagonist, he doesn't disappoint. Choi plays a wonderful bad guy in this film, a pretty scary performance I must say. There was a scene in the beginning of the movie where he made me jump in horror.
I totally recommend I Saw the Devil. Good stuff.
