Oh. My. God.

I have a headache, but it's the best headache I've ever had.

Some striking imagery and fleeting moments of beauty can’t stop the film feeling every second of its 169-minute run time, and then some. It’s a film that will undoubtedly enthral many and its ambition and lack of blockbuster action is admirable but I felt rather numb and disinterested by the whole journey. Suffering from an abundance of expository dialogue (and not just for the science bits) and lethargic pacing its opening two hours were partially saved by its fine cast and occasional abstract beauty (Hoyte Van Hoytema effortlessly filling Pfister’s shoes).

For a film that is so rooted to the relationships forged by parents and their children it was hard to feel any real connection to the characters whilst Nolan seems ill-suited to delivering the overwhelming sentimentality that all but destroys the final act. It is this closing and seemingly interminable act that will prove the most divisive and sadly its attempts at profundity came crashing back to earth.

my relationship with my dad is the most important one in my life, hands down. and this movie always strikes a chord deep inside, so emotionally heavy that i feel it might break, but in a cathartic kind of way. i’m glad i can always rely on it to fall back on when i need to, just like i can rely on him

I'm pretty sure no one will EVER come close to being as talented as Hans Zimmer is, also I would kill 10 people just to see this in theaters.

I saw this referenced somewhere and a main plot twist was spoiled but I didn’t know it was the twist it just streamed interesting so I looked it up and started watching it.

I didn’t know it was the Nolan brothers not that it would make a difference,  but the plot and tone were weird and McConahay mumbling bad dialog awkwardly was confusing, the exposition was so awkward and that there were all these 60+ year old men walking a round and no 60+ year old women.

I noticed the production values were very high so I kept watching otherwise I would have turned off that mess 10minutes in.

Nolan brothers all that money and this is what they made lol.

SO, i thought each character's distinct morals and desires were fascinating. and Matthew McConaughey's acting in THAT ONE SCENE made my heart hurt

I feel different about this film everytime I watch it.

Last time the whole "love transcends dimensions" and the ending weren't as much of a problem for me.

But this time they seemed more glaring.

Guess it depends on my mood then.

Undeniably beautiful and ambitious.

Wow. I am forever being impressed by Christopher Nolan.
That score was breathtaking.

First rewatch after seeing it at the Franklin Institute Imax theater when it came out... The visuals and scale deserve to be celebrated here. An ambitious achievement. I loved this on pretty much every level until the last half hour or so.

As others have noted, the time dilation stuff is the true uranium here... a very real byproduct of space travel that's right in Nolan's wheelhouse that makes the stakes clear and compelling. It also lends itself well to the exposition Nolan insists on cramming into this. who aren't struggling to fit in but finding their peace on the fringes. McConaughey's reaction to losing so many years in a flash is wrenching, meme or not.
